Happening Now: Help needed during and after disasters for horses and caretakers
Hundreds of wildfires are impacting horses and their caretakers in California, Oregon, and Washington, and Hurricane Laura has devastated hundreds of farms and equine facilities in Western Louisiana placing horses in peril.
Care, medical supplies, hay, feed, and more is being provided to recognized equine stakeholder organizations and equine veterinary organizations that are instrumental in providing care through the incident command system.
Devoted to the health and welfare of horses, The Foundation for the Horse stands ready to assist equines and their caretakers during these crises.
The Foundation’s Equine Disaster Relief Fund fills an important role as a source of emergency support for horses and working equids impacted by natural disasters.
Please consider making a gift to support the current and anticipated needs of animals and people within the equine community impacted by these wildfires and storms.
